The final episode of Max aired on August 22, 2018. He has since been replaced by new presenter Cammy Crawford, who, as Max said in a statement, is pretty busy and couldn't handle two careers at a time and that he wanted to be a full-time filmmaker. In 2015, he wrote and directed We Are Friends, his first feature film starring Wes Bentley and Zac Efron. Unfortunately for him, the film was a box office fiasco. Nevertheless, he left Namazu with a desire to continue working, as per reports from diistractify.com.

I’ve learned much about myself, my country, and human nature. Nev and I have become brothers, and our bromance has blossomed before your eyes," he said.

“For a while now, I have been straddling two careers as a TV host and filmmaker, and while this level of busyness is a dream come true, my life can no longer sustain it. With Catfish still going strong after seven seasons, 115 episodes, 31 specials, and no sign of slowing down, I finally feel it is time for me to exit."
